In I believe April of 2022, my check engine light came on so I brought my car in to be diagnosed. I was told I would need a battery connector part to fix this issue and it would be covered under my warranty. This part took several months to arrive. Once the part arrived I was contacted to let me know the part was finally in and I set up an appointment. When I dropped my car off to have the part replaced 11/08/2022, I received a call from the Bergstrom Rep asking why they were replacing that part in my car. Of course you can probably imagine my first response was "Because that's what I was told would fix the issue I was having?" Seems like a stupid question as you would think there would be noted in my file as to why the part was ordered? I was not aware I needed to justify why I wanted a part replaced. I was then told that this part was not going to fix anything and that it did not need replacing. I was also told very rudley that due to an emissions E code, my car would be returned to me with my check engine light on. The sales rep repeated multiple times that it was pointless to get this part replaced and that if they did replace it, it would be an "extensive" job. He then stated that due to this, they would not be done with my car by the end of the day. To me, this just sounds like an excuse to not want to spend time to replace something that isn't an easy fix. I told him that yes, I would like the part replaced as this is what was diagnosed in April and I did not want it to cause further issues down the line. When I picked up my car after the part was replaced, my check engine light was no longer on. I did not get a very good feeling about this due to the fact that I was told multiple times that it was pointless to replace the part that I was told I needed to fix this issue in April and that it would not make the check engine light go off. I guess I am just confused why I was told to not get a part replaced on my car? It really made me feel like my concerns did not matter and that I should feel stupid for requesting that the part be replaced as intended and indicated from my April visit. I personally really do not like being second guessed and I do not believe customers should be getting called to say that its pointless to replace a part that is supposed to solve an issue that was diagnosed. Also, it seems to me that a battery connector part would be a pretty important part of my car, so if there was even a chance that it was not working properly or could malfunction more in the future, it doesn't even sound safe or responsible for Bergstrom to tell me I don't need it replaced. Overall, very dissatisfied with how the situation was handled, how I was treated and I do not feel like I am a valued Bergstrom customer at all.
clean, professional, helpful, friendly and of course, cookies! I want to complement the Gal at the counter and service man Terry. Both top notch and a I was in top management position, the type of person who I would want as an employee. I'm 81 and still call them employees not associates or whatever the latest trend. However, I do understand that these two would be associates or a much higher description. I'm not sure of names because the paperwork is in my car. Oh, did I mention cookies?
